Faye Barton has been Treasurer of Powhatan since elected in 1999. She has served in the Powhatan County Treasurer's office since June 1992. She served as Chief Deputy Treasurer for 4 years prior to being elected Treasurer in 1999.
Prior to serving Powhatan County, Faye worked in the private sector 12 years for Traveler’s Insurance Company as a Senior Processor of Medical Claims and worked on a support travel team on the East Coast from New York through Florida. She converted the Richmond, Virginia Office of Travelers Insurance Company from manual processing of claims to electronic data that could be viewed from state to state.

Former Board of Director for the Treasurer’s Association of Virginia in the “FIRE” Program. (Fiscally displaying, Integrity, Responsibility and Education)
Former member of the Education Committee for continuing education through the Treasurer’s Association of Virginia (2 years)
Former Co-chairman for the annual Treasurer of Virginia’s Conference held in Richmond, Virginia (2004) and committee member for several of the annual conferences
Former Board of Director for the Bright and Associates Software Users Group for the Treasurer’s of Virginia (14 years) and was President of the group in 2012 and 2013
21 year member of TAV (Treasurers Association of Virginia), 16 year member of VALECO (Virginia Locally Elected County Officials), and 4 years with the NAT (National Treasurer’s Association)
Faye lives in Powhatan with her husband and has 3 children and 6 grandchildren with another one on the way. She loves Powhatan County and serving its citizens. Her interests outside of work are scrapbooking, bike riding, travel and spending time with her grandkids.
