2023 AARP Tax-Aide

AARP Tax-Aide volunteers will be offering free tax return preparation again this year at the Powhatan Library.  Due to COVID restrictions last year they were only able to provide drop-off services for most of the season.  However, this year their plan is to return to face-to-face appointments.

Tax preparation appointments can be made online here. To better manage the appointments, AARP will only be opening a few appointment days at a time. Additional appointment times will be added as earlier times are filled.

Please make an appointment only once you have received all your tax documents.  When you come to your appointment, please bring the following items:

  • Prior year tax return
  • Social security cards for everyone on the tax return and drivers photo ID to confirm your identity
  • All your tax documents
  • Copy of a voided check for direct deposit of any tax refund

Free tax return preparation appointments will be in the large conference room of the Powhatan Library between 9:30 am and 2 pm every Wednesday and Friday beginning Wednesday, February 1 through Friday, April 14, 2023.
