How well do I know the song "Where We'll Never Grow Old" ... when we sing it at church, my father (our Pastor) usually smiles and says ... "let's turn to page ... and sing everyone's favorite song ... Where We'll Never Grow Old" All smile and can't wait for a place where we will stay young forever.
I thought about that alot over the weekend. My son is 3 now. Lots of things have changed since he turned 3 in January. It amazes me what accomplishments children seem to make right around their birthday. And this year was no exception. Brady is terrified of washing his hair and getting a hair cut. I don't know why ... he just doesn't want his hair to be messed with. It is a major project to get haircuts and long crying sessions.
Until this past Saturday ... I thought instead of putting the girls at the beauty shop through so much pain ... I would cut his hair myself.
So, we proceeded to discuss hair cut time. He climbed right up on the stool. Smiling all the time. And never once paid any attention to what I was doing. He was so happy. Then the bath ... I just knew that we would once again go through a screaming fit when it was time to wash his hair ... Nope! To my amazement ... the bath was awesome! Not a whimper ... not even a disgruntlement.
He was a little soldier. I looked at Curtis ... he looked at me ... and the only thing we could come up with was "He's 3 now ... " Maybe that was his time when he would get over the "hair ordeals". So here we are on Tuesday, 3 baths later ... no more tears!
Hallelujah!
So ... you know ... I guess with we "older folks" - we must get better with age too?
