Area Six headquarters for the Virginia State Police is located at 1765 Anderson Highway on Route 60 in eastern Powhatan County. Troopers assigned to this area are also responsible for Amelia, Chesterfield County and the city of Colonial Heights. | |

The Department's mission is to
provide the Commonwealth of Virginia with a responsive statewide police
department, independent yet supportive of other law enforcement agencies; to
preserve law and order; to enforce criminal, traffic and regulatory laws;
and, to provide essential public safety services efficiently and effectively
to citizens of the Commonwealth.
