The Virginia legislature authorized and assigned cell telephone service
#77 exclusively to the Virginia State Police for public use. Any
citizen needing to contact the Virginia State Police by cellular telephone
service may do so. This is inclusive for emergency or normal use.
Citizens may see #77 signs with this information on it along side the interstates and non-limited access highways, as well as major thoroughfares. This is a convenience and may be used by citizens to contact their local State Trooper.
