Scalloped Potatoes

 

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine

  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  • 3 cups milk

  • 1 teaspoon salt

 

  • ¼ teaspoon pepper

  • 6 medium potatoes, sliced thin

  • 2 tablespoons chopped onion

 

Make white sauce of first 5 ingredients.  Put half the potatoes in a greased 2-quart casserole; cover with half the onion and half the sauce.  Repeat layers.  Cover and bake at 350 degrees about 1 hour.  Uncover and continue baking until top is browned.  Serves 4 – 6.  Shredded cheese may be added to sauce.
