Corn Bread Pie

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound hamburger

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 1 can corn, drained

  • 1 can beans, drained (pintos, limas or favorite)
  • 1 small can peas, drained

 

  • 1 small can carrots, drained

  • 1 large can tomatoes

  • milk

  • 2 cups corn meal (self-rising)

 

Brown hamburger and chopped onion, after browned, place in large casserole dish.  Add vegetables.  Then pour can of tomatoes over them.  Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste.  Make a thin mixture of cornmeal and milk.  Pour over top and bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes or until corn bread is done.  Tip:  you can add your favorite vegetables or omit any of these if your family doesn’t like them.
