Broccoli Salad

4 cups fresh broccoli, chopped
8 strips crisp bacon, crumbled
1 small onion, finely chopped

Cut broccoli into bite-size pieces.  Add bacon and onions.

Dressing:

1 cup mayonnaise
2-3 tablespoons vinegar
2 tablespoons sugar

Pour dressing over broccoli and toss.  Put in glass bowl and cover with 1 cup shredded cheese, if desired.  Chill until serving.  Can be made in advance.
