Location
Powhatan County offers drop-off recycling at the Convenience Center, located at 2407 Mitchell Road (north of Anderson Highway, Route 60).

Accepted Items
Items accepted for recycling at the Convenience Center include:

• Aluminum or steel cans
• Cardboard
• Foil products
• Glass bottles and jars
• Mixed paper (mail, catalogs, magazines, office/copy paper and telephone books)
• Narrow neck plastic bottles (with 1 or 2 on bottom)
• Newspaper and glossy inserts

Items Not Accepted

• Lids or caps
• Plastic bags of any kind (recycle at participating grocery stores)

Other Recycling Drop-Offs
Some area schools and fire departments also provide recycling bins for newspapers and paper.
